Course required to be able to self certify under Building Regulations Part L1. This is a Construction Skills equivalent of the City & Guilds 6084.

Do I need this course?

This course will enable you to self certify installations of heat producing appliances in accordance with Part L1 of Building Regulations.

All boiler installations (new or replacement) are legally required to be notified to building control.

This can either be done as part of a Competent Persons Scheme (Self Certification) or by having Building Control inspect the installation.

To Notify under a Competent Persons Scheme the engineer must hold relevant qualifications that demonstrate that the installation will comply with Building Regulations.

What if I don't do this course

It is a requirement under Part L of Building Regulations that the installation of all heat producing appliances is notified to Building Control.

If you do not posess this qualification, you will not be able to self certify, and building control will need to inspect and certify the installation. This will incur further costs.

By completing this course you will be able to join a Competent Persons Scheme and notiffy the work, without involving Building Control
